Corrective Maintenance

Our service technicians are highly trained and fully proficient in the trade of generator set corrective maintenance.  When you call KG&E, Inc. to troubleshoot and repair your generator you employ the entire company, not just the technician dispatched to solve your immediate problem.  Our technicians work in a collaborative manner, when necessary, to ensure your problem is analyzed in a very timely way.  This "team" approach ensures that all repair parts, if needed, are ordered as quickly as possible to enable us to place your equipment back in service as soon as we can.

A service department is as good as the quality of its technicians.  We are proud of their accomplishments and their attitudes towards superior customer service.  We insist on nothing less and ask you for the opportunity to give us a chance to prove that to you.

Our service practices are based upon the best in the industry.  As strong supporters of industry-wide activities in the area of technician certification we are fortunate to have two of the founders of the EGSA technician certification program on our staff.

If you need corrective maintenance on your generator then call Kelly Generator as follows;

   Between 7:00am - 4:30pm             Outside Business Hours

 Hints to Avoid Corrective Maintenance

  • Test run your equipment periodically to ensure you identify any pending maintenance problems before you need the unit.
  • Familiarize yourself with the owner's manual and pay close attention to what guidance is offered to keep your system in optimum condition.
  • When your generator is running under emergency stand-by conditions:
    • Shutdown the unit every 24 hours to check fluid levels.
    • Use only 5W-30 oil in natural gas and propane fueled units.
    • Use only 15W-40 oil in diesel fueled units.
    • Check fuel levels frequently.
    • Ensure you initiate a full service call after your unit runs for 10 days or 250 hrs, if a larger unit, or after 5 days or 150 hrs. if a smaller unit.  Both an oil and filter change are required at this point of operation.
    • Verify proper switch positions on the generator and the ATS (if applicable).  Also check breaker positions.
  • Call us when you experience any unusual behavior in the operation of your generator.  An early call can many times keep a degrading situation from becoming worse and more costly to repair.
